The U.K. has created an AI Safety Institute to evaluate advanced systems, while favoring flexible, non-statutory oversight for now. Canada, Japan, and Australia are pursuing their own frameworks, and global bodies are pushing for interoperable standards.
Industry adjusts to higher expectations
