Startups say they support clear baselines but worry about compliance costs. They want simple, proportionate rules that do not freeze smaller players out of the market.

Companies that ship AI features into consumer apps are bracing for more transparency requirements. That could include clear labeling of AI-generated content, opt-outs where feasible, and notices when chatbots collect personal information. Enterprise vendors expect more audits from customers, who must answer to regulators and their own risk committees.

Financial firms and hospitals face sector-specific expectations. Anti-money-laundering, fair lending, medical device safety, and patient privacy rules already apply.
